THE AMAZING FACTS ABOUT EXONERATIONS IN THE U.S.:   This organization  has compiled figures on nature of 1450 exonerations in the U.S. since 1989.  The map is interactive and will tell you, by clicking on your state, the statistics for exonerations in your state.  The data was compiled from the National Registry of Exonerations, current as of October, 2014.

 

THE INNOCENCE PROJECT: With chapters in several cities around the country, this is perhaps the best known organization of its type in the U.S., having been responsible for, to date, the exoneration of more than 300 wrongfully convicted persons. The Innocence Project is a national litigation and public policy organization dedicated to exonerating wrongfully convicted individuals through DNA testing and reforming the criminal justice system to prevent further injustice. At the present time, The Innocence Project accepts only cases where DNA evidence was involved.

 

CENTURIAN MINISTRIES: This organization works on wrongful convictions and does field investigation cases (cases wherein DNA does not play a role). CM does not charge for any aspect of the case. CM will consider a case in any state of the U.S. as well as Canada. CM also keeps up with its clients after freedom

 

DEATH PENALTY INFORMATION CENTER:   (D.P.I.C.)   Since 1973, over 140 people have been exonerated and freed off death row, 73 African Americans, 57 Whites, 12 Latino and 2 others.  For more information on death row and wrongful convictions, visit D.P.I.C.

TRUTH IN JUSTICE: This organization is an educational non-profit founded to educate the public regarding the vulnerabilities in the U.S. criminal justice system that make the conviction of innocent citizens possible.
